What is Diabetrol SR?

Diabetrol SR Tablet is used for Type 2 diabetes mellitus, Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, Maturity onset diabetes, Polycystic ovary syndrome and other conditions. Diabetrol SR Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Diabetrol SR Tablet contains Glibenclamide and Metformin as active ingredients.
Diabetrol SR Tablet works by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas; decreasing the amount of glucose and controls the amount of glucose in the blood;

Dosage

There is no fixed dosage regimen for the management of hyperglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes with Diabetrol SR hydrochloride tablets or any other pharmacologic agent. Dosage of Diabetrol SR hydrochloride tablets must be individualized on the basis of both effectiveness and tolerance, while not exceeding the maximum recommended daily doses. The maximum recommended daily dose of Diabetrol SR hydrochloride tablets is 2550 mg in adults and 2000 mg in pediatric patients (10 to 16 years of age).

Diabetrol SR Tablet Use is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Maturity onset diabetes
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Diabetrol SR Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed here.

Diabetrol SR Tablet - Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Diabetrol SR Tabis a contraindication. In addition, Diabetrol SR Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions:
  • Acute myocardial infarction
  • Cardiovascular collapse
  • Concomitant administration of bosentan
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Hypersensitivity to this drug
  • Renal disease
  • Septicemia

Diabetrol SR Tablet - Side-effects

The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Diabetrol SR . This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
  • Low blood sugar
  • Nausea
  • Epigastric fullness
  • Heartburn
  • Pruritus
  • Erythema
  • Urticaria
  • Morbilliform or maculopapular eruptions
  • Leukopenia
  • Agranulocytosis

Storage of Diabetrol SR Tablet

Diabetrol SR Store at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless required by package insert. Keep medicines away from children and pets.
